Our family and employees thought the world of this precious lady. But around the year 2000, I believe, this sweet lady came to work along side us in our business. Our children went to school together so we connected even more in the eighties.

I have a video (what was called a home movie back then) of a friend's wedding where Brenda had played the piano for them. You just keep a eye out for me.īrenda Byrd has been an acquaintance for many years. One day I'll see you soon again my friend/sister. You will never have to worry about being sick with you stomach or worry about being able to sleep. Now you go rest and be totally happy and worshipping THE LORD. You told me when your mother went on to be with the LORD you wish you could be by her side.
I know how they loved being around you and to (bug) you. I'll always be here for your children if they need me. You helped me through some tough times in th last couple of years. We talked on the phone a lot and we would laugh or just lend a ear for one another. We went on cruises together, mostly you laying out in the sun. I was BLESSED to have been friends with you from our young childhood and then being my sister in law and the mother to my nieces and nephew. It has been such an honor to know you and we are so blessed to have known Paula Clark.
You are one in a million and God broke the mold after making you. Paula, You made such a big difference in the world. Our deepest, deepest condolences and prayers goes to your family and also to your Dixie Diner family. All had a kind word and a biggest smile! The Energizer Bunny had nothing on you.

You were a ball of fire, bustling around the restaurant so full of energy, taking orders, making sure everyone had the best hot coffee (you made the best coffee!) and you always found the time to chat with everyone. Paula, you are so loved by us and so many others. We just loved you and spoke about with praise so often because you was just so amazing and always brought a smile to our face. We loved coming to your restaurant on Sundays. Paula, you were an extraordinary, amazing and kind hearted woman. and I are so deeply saddened and shocked to hear the news about Paula.

I am a much richer person for having known June for some sixty plus years. To Debbie, David, Joe, their spouses and the grandchildren and June's many friends, my deepest sympathy. Now there is no confusion and the dark curtain of Alzheimer's, as it did the same to my dearly departed Mom, is lifted forever. I will deeply miss those talks over the phone over the years. June also saved some very valuable family pictures and gave some to me over the years. She was always a class act, respectful of my feelings, and rock solid in her beliefs. I consider myself very fortunate to have stayed in touch with June over the years, especially since Monty passed. So, as you can see, we go back a long way. I was also at June and my cousin Monty's wedding the day they were married at my Aunt Betty Huntley Beard's home on Woodcrest in North Asheville. I was with Mom and Dad at the original Asheville Auditorium in 1958 the night that June graduated from Lee Edwards High School.
